I was thrilled to travel back to California last month for my first quarterly visit of 2021 to capture a series of Bay Area families. And this time, I had the added pleasure of driving a bit further south to meet up with a lovely friend for this sun-drenched Central Valley Family session!
I am tremendously grateful for this new bicoastal venture that has recently presented itself. This has allowed me to continue to serve all those wonderful west coast clients who have become such a big part of my life, while simultaneously expanding my business on the east coast! Funny how bumps in the road (hello pandemic) are not always as they seem. I read a quote last week that really resonated with me. “ Not all storms come to disrupt your life; some come to clear the path.” Thank you Sara Blakely! I honestly could not agree more.
When planning the details of my recent trip, I realized that I would be arriving right at the tail end of the Central Valley’s short lived, blossom season. From what I had read, there is a such a small window each year to enjoy this, so I decided to try to make it happen and reached out to a local girlfriend of mine. Low and behold, she graciously agreed to humor me!
Stephanie has one of those families. They are warm and kind … and beyond hospitable. You walk into their home and just feel comfortable and included. She is a tireless entrepreneur, an amazing mother and an extremely talented photographer/artist. We connected several years ago as we were both growing our business’ and has become such a valued part of my network as the years have passed.
So we did it! We met up that brilliantly sunny afternoon for a little Family photography session in that dreamy almond grove. The sprinklers timed things perfectly and turned off right as we arrived (the earth looked happy). The trees looked beautiful. And the Rosenthals, well I mean look at them. ;) That afternoon under cotton candy skies was all I needed.
We made it home that night to conversation over a wonderful bottle of wine and a delicious dinner (so thoughtfully prepared) by Stephanie and her husband. It is these moments I cherish ~ the opportunity to slow down, connect with people …. and talk about life, goals, happiness and direction …. that give me life. When you find such people with that fire in their belly (and light in their eyes), you realize they are one in a million. Thank you Rosethals for sharing your family with me and for such a very special, memorable afternoon! ~ Kent Avenue Photography
